EMDR Therapy in Livermore, CA
Allow the past to be processed so the present can be reclaimed.
EMDR Therapy
EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a gentle, evidence-based approach that helps your brain heal from experiences that may still feel overwhelming or “stuck.” When difficult memories aren’t fully processed, they can continue to show up as anxiety, self-doubt, emotional reactivity, or a sense of being triggered in the present. EMDR works by helping your mind and body reprocess these experiences so they no longer carry the same intensity or hold.
In our work together, you won’t be forced to relive anything before you’re ready. We move at your pace, building a strong foundation of safety, grounding, and support. Many clients find that EMDR not only reduces distress around past experiences, but also helps them feel more present, confident, and connected in their daily lives.
Healing doesn’t mean forgetting—it means the past no longer has the same impact on you. EMDR can help you get there. I would be honored to walk with you on that journey.

Your brain already knows how to heal—EMDR helps it get there.
Just like your body heals a wound, your mind has a natural ability to process difficult experiences. EMDR gently supports this process when memories feel “stuck” and continue to affect your present. The body knows how to heal, we just need to get out of the way to allow it’s natural healing process to resolve the disturbance and gain insight so that the past can truley be in the past.

EMDR heals without re-living the traumatic experience detail by detail
EMDR uses guided bilateral stimulation (like eye movements or gentle tapping) to help your brain reprocess distressing experiences in a way that feels manageable, supported, and at your pace. Many people report that it feels gentle to the nervous system due to not having to share all the details of the traumatic event. You capture the main image, thought, feeling— and just notice what comes up.

EMDR can shift how you feel, think, and respond—deeply and meaningfully.
As memories are processed, many people notice a natural change in their emotional reactions, beliefs about themselves, and ability to feel more grounded in daily life. The memories integrate and can generalize to help you feel more balanced to manage daily stressors with more calm and adaptive coping in your system. When we update the brain with the goodness, it can be reminded of it’s strengths and capabilities.
Is EMDR therapy right for you?
You feel stuck in patterns that don’t seem or change or fully make sense.
You may notice the same emotional reactions, relationship struggles, or self-doubt showing up over and over, even when you know better. EMDR helps get to the root of these patterns so real change can happen. You’ve experienced something overwhelming— recently or long ago.
Whether it was a single event or ongoing stress over time, your mind and body may still be carrying it. EMDR can help those experiences feel less intense and no longer take over in the present. You feel easily triggered, anxious or emotionally reactive, and it gets in the way of being the parent, co-worker, partner, person that you want to be.
If small things feel big, or your reactions feel hard to control, it may be your nervous system responding to unresolved experiences. EMDR helps your system feel safer and more regulated. You want to respond differently but it feels nearly impossible to choose a different response during a challanging moment.
You may find yourself reacting in ways you didn’t intend—feeling guilt, frustration, or overwhelm. EMDR can help you understand and shift those deeper triggers so you can show up more calmly and intentionally. You’ve done talk therapy but still feel the emotional weight. Your brain knows better but your body has not yet caught up.
Insight is important—but sometimes it’s not enough on its own. EMDR works at a deeper level to help your brain and body fully process what’s been held onto. You’re ready for healing, but need a safe and supportive space to land.
EMDR doesn’t rush the process. We focus on building safety, grounding, and trust first—so you can move through healing in a way that feels manageable, supported, and empowering.
